Responsibility for Actions

Those who do not understand the theory of reincarnation often assume that those who believe are attracted to the idea because it frees a person from responsibility for his actions. "You can just do whatever you want to in this lifetime and not be concerned, because you can come back and have another chance."

Actually, one of the main lessons taught by reincarnation is that of personal responsibility. The more one investigates and understands the mechanics of reincarnation, the more aware one becomes of the consequences of each thought and action. When you begin to recognize the role which past actions have played in creating both the desirable and the undesirable elements of your present life, this becomes a very strong motivation to make every effort to be the best you can be today, to build a better tomorrow.
