Candles are a standard tool employed for just about any type of enchantment. The fantastic thing about candle magick is that it quickly and neatly combines the magick of color, light, and scent. Traditionally, candles have been lit to welcome the divine and to symbolize our connection with the powers of light and color. The act of lighting a spell candle is one of sacredness that then radiates out to illuminate the rest of your day.
The spell candle is a traditional symbol of the power of the fire element. Especially for our purposes, this magickal element is an excellent one to tap into, as fire brings us the qualities of warmth, heat, and illumination (all of which can certainly be worked into your loving enchantments). Candle spells are a classic part of any Witch's repertoire. Why? Because a burning spell candle is a physical representation of the actual spell. As long as the candle burns, it is shining your enchanting energies out into the world.
To get your candle spells really up and moving, you will want to use the correct color. Color has a powerful influence on our moods and in our living environment. In the Craft, colors are important components to magick as well. Each shade has its own unique enchanting correspondences and uses. Now, in the following list, the colors all revolve around the theme of this book: loving enchantments. While working candle magick I urge you to always keep your candles attended, and to think safety first.
Here is a rainbow of colors to incorporate into your loving enchantments. Explore the following color chart, and let's get the creativity flowing!
