Celebrate the Coming of Spring

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Rose

Spring is not far off now; there are signs of its coming appearing everywhere, if you know where to look. Here's a poem written in the 1700s to the first flower of spring, the saffron crocus (Crocus sativus). On this day, you should hold a crocus flower and repeat the following poem in recognition of the beautiful things that will be coming into your life this spring.

Welcome, wild
harbinger of spring!
To this small nook of earth;
Feeling and fancy fondly cling
Round thoughts which owe their birth
To Thee and to the humble spot
Where chance has fixed thy lowly plot.
–Bernard Barton, circa 1775
