Color of the day: Black Incense of the day: Rue Make a cairn (large or small) to acknowledge something you've had to part with; it can be a person, situation, or something valuable you've lost. Rituals like this can provide closure. You can make a cairn indoors by using small stones. Places that sell gardening supplies or craft stores often carry small bags of smooth rocks to use in fountains or to put in vases. Stack the stones in a mound or pile—often a pyramid shape is formed. While you stack, think about whatever you're bidding farewell. You can even use this spell to say goodbye to part of yourself that you've outgrown. If you wish, place a small reminder or token at the bottom of the cairn; outdoors, you could bury it and put the stones on top. This can be a photo or simply a written message. You can even do this in a flowerpot or other container. With the placement of each stone, feel the healing energy and the separation from the issue. Chant as you create the cairn: I say farewell, may not forget. But I'll move on with no regrets. |
