POSTED UNDER Autumn, Moon, Spring, AND MORE

Wail and Moan Spell

Color of the day:  Blue
Incense of the day:  Patchouli

During the month of the Mourning Moon, let Demeter walk with you. Her daughter Persephone, the light of Demeter's life, was stolen away. And Demeter mourned. As the seasons change, let your unexpressed grief arise and be felt. As the days grow short, mourn for the loss of the sun. As the nights grow long, cry for the passing of summer. As the wheel of the year turns, wail for your lost youth, the failures of your body, the growing frailties of age. In a dark and quiet space, let your grief rise up, a tide that overflows your eyes and your throat. Wail, moan, scream, and cry like Mother Demeter mourning the loss of "the light of your life." Grief is part of life. Just as spring is followed by summer, autumn, and winter, buds go to flower, fruit, and seed, so life leads to loss, death, and later, rebirth.
