Releasing Guilt

Color of the day:  Black
Incense of the day:  Ivy

In honor of Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, engage in a day-long practice to release guilt and to help yourself feel spiritually clear, light, and free. Wear something simple, with natural fibers and light colors.
Instead of fasting, perhaps choose to eat mostly whole plant foods (such as fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, and beans) and to drink only water, juice, and tea.
Before sunset, record in your journal any things you still feel guilty about, perhaps under the heading "Guilt Inventory." Then hold the inventory in your open palms and say:

"Great Goddess, I release these things to
you. Please lift the guilt from my heart
and transmute any negative effects of
these things into positivity and healing,
in all directions of time. Thank you."

Safely burn the paper in a fireplace or cauldron. Then shower or bathe and finish by smudging yourself with white sage or palo santo.
