Saint Lucy's Day Votive Candle Offering

Color of the day:  Yellow
Incense of the day:  Marigold

The actual Saint Lucy was Italian, but she was adopted as part of the Swedish winter solstice customs. She is depicted in a white gown, crowned with glowing candles and bearing sweets and coffee or mulled wine. Bake sweet treats today and make a votive offering of light.
Light a candle for something meaningful to you, and sit for a while in peaceful meditation. Give thanks, say a prayer for a loved one, ask for guidance or whatever you need-but it should be sincere. Sit or kneel in front of the candle for a moment and meditate; focus your intent. Put the candle in a window or in another safe but visible location so you are reminded of it. Make this candle special. Use a votive holder that you save for special occasions, or buy a candle of an unusual color. If you make candles, pour a special one for today.
