Beltane Ribbon Prayer Dance

Today is Beltane! While Maypole dances are traditional, we don't always have the resources or enough people to hold one. Here is a lovely alternative that is inspired by the spirit of tradition, but is part Maypole ribbon and part prayer flag.
You can construct a ribbondancing stick using a wooden dowel or tree branch, a length of ribbon several feet long, and an eyelet set from any craft store. Once you attach the eyelet set to the stick, and the ribbon to the eyelet, you are ready to inscribe onto the ribbon any magickal symbols or prayers you wish to make manifest. You can now hold the stick and ribbon in meditation, focusing on your goal. Then begin to dance, twirling the ribbon in celebration of the season and focusing on your intent. Your prayers are released into the wind as you spin, twirl, and dance!
