Saint Winefride

Color of the day:  Turquoise
Incense of the day:  Apricot

Saint Winefride of Wales, whose feast day is today, was a beautiful young woman who was beheaded in the 600s by a local chief named Caradoc when she attempted to flee from his unwanted advances. Not only was her head reattached by Saint Benno, effectively bringing her back to life, but also, at the spot where her head stopped rolling, a healing well appeared. According to Judika Illes in the Encyclopedia of Mystics, Saints & Sages, it's possible that the spring and its healing powers were known before Winefride lived, and "her legend may cloak a pre-Christian spirit or derive from Celtic traditions."
Today, invoke the powers of Saint Winefride's Holy Well by adding a tablespoon of sea salt to a bath, lighting a white candle, and invoking her name. Request support with healing any physical ailment and/or any type of sexual abuse. Soak thoroughly.
