POSTED UNDER Earth

Lungs of the Earth

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Patchouli

The earth is a living, breathing organism. Although humans appear to exist separately from the earth, in truth we do not. We are all intimately connected.

Have you ever noticed how much better you feel when you are in a forest or sitting in a park? Without any effort, your breathing slows, your heart relaxes, and your spirit is renewed as if a spell had been cast.

We owe this goodness to trees. Trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. They inhale and exhale with us. Trees are sacred. They are one of the oldest living species on earth.

Take a moment to be with a tree. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on the tree. Thank the tree for all it gives to us and to our planet.
