LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Sticks and Stones

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Basil

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can also hurt me. Words have the power of an invisible dart that can wound your heart and soul. This spell is a balm for your wounded feelings.

On a brown piece of paper that has torn edges all on sides, write down the hurtful words. Turn the paper ninety degrees and write your full name across the words nine times. In an unending circle, without lifting your pen, write:

Your words have no power over me.

When you have finished writing the words, add a pinch of eucalyptus herb or essential oil to the center of the paper. Fold the paper away from you and tie it with a thread that has been knotted nine times. Burn the paper in a heatproof container. Flush the ashes down the toilet or throw them away somewhere far from your house.
