A Spell to Increase Self-Love

Color of the day:  Green
Incense of the day:  Balsam

Let’s be honest: we all struggle with self-esteem from time to time. Witches, Wiccans, Pagans, and other metaphysical folk tend to be quite sensitive to energies—and most certainly to the emotional energies of others. Even some of the least empathic people among us can sometimes carry the weight of others’ judgments for years or even a lifetime, sometimes unconsciously!

As difficult and even painful as it can be, we must all learn to love ourselves for who we are. There is always room for self-improvement, but we as magickal workers have a responsibility to care for ourselves and inspire this same care in others.

Get a small, fancy piece of paper that you can easily carry in your wallet or bag after the spell has been cast. In a sacred space (whether at home at your altar or in a spot in nature), carefully draw one small drop of blood from your body (such as with a sterile needle) and place it in the middle of the paper. Strongly press this droplet with the ring finger of your right hand, leaving your fingerprint in the center.

Around the fingerprint, draw images of smiley faces, hearts, and other symbols and words that you associate with love. Speak these words three times:

Love above, love below, love
within, and love without.
(Your name), I love you.

Keep this spell in your wallet, bag, pocket, car, or otherwise on your person whenever possible.
