LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

A Spell to Remember Studied Information

Color of the day:  Topaz
Incense of the day:  Bay laurel

Wednesdays are associated with the god Mercury, thanks to the Romans, who named the days of the week after the gods (as well as the known planets). In French, Wednesday is mercredi, and in Spanish it is miercoles. In English, however, Wednesday comes from the Old English Wodensdaeg, after the Germanic god Woden, or Odin. Both Mercury and Odin are associated with change, the acquisition of knowledge, and wisdom, which makes today a great day for tasks related to research and studying.

Writing something down is proven to be one of the most effective ways of remembering it. To ensure that you retain information you are trying to learn, be sure to read and listen thoroughly, and get in the habit of taking notes. You may enchant your favorite writing utensil by passing it through incense smoke and saying the following:

Lead and ink,
Pen and quill.

All I write,
Recalled at will.

Whatever you write with the utensil will stay in your memory and be easily recited as necessary.
