To reinforce the bonds in a relationship of any kind, begin by writing your name and the other person’s name on the same sheet of paper. This works best if both people participate, each writing their own name. Fold the paper as many times as you can and place it in a heatproof dish. Set a pink or white candle on top of the paper. As you light the candle, visualize the relationship between you growing stronger. After the candle has burned out safely, take what’s left of it, and the paper, and bury them someplace safe. As you bury these items, hold hands and say these words together:

Let our relationship stay
healthy and strong.
Keep trust between us, and if
something goes wrong,
Let us resolve it as soon as we can.
Let this be true if we both understand.
