Raven Magic

Color of the day:  Lavender
Incense of the day:  Rosemary

Today in 1845, Edgar Allan Poe published his poem “The Raven.” Ravens are considered to be very powerful magic. Some cultures see them as positive, while others view them as harbingers of doom. When I lived in England, it was said that a raven landing on your house was good luck. This spell invites good raven magic into your home. You’ll need a feather duster (preferably black, like the raven) and some fresh basil—the supermarket should have both.

Tear the basil leaves into pieces, and as you do, recite:

I have no doubt, I will not be without.

Still chanting, drop the basil leaves onto the floor by your doors, then use the feather duster to sweep them over the threshold. Leave them where they lie, and let the wind take them away. If you live in an apartment complex, sweep them over the threshold of your unit, then take them outside and leave them inconspicuously outside the main entrance.
