Today is the National Day of Prayer. On this day millions of people may offer their prayers for guidance and leadership. As magickal people, the word prayer may not be a word we are comfortable using.

However, the words affirmation and incantation carry the same intention. Some may find that using those words is a better fit for their practices. Many of us, as magickal practitioners, embrace a higher power, contrary to what others may think it means to be "Pagan." As people who embrace and work with magickal spirituality, we too can use this day as a day to connect with our higher powers in whatever way is comfortable for us, for none need ever walk alone. To embrace the power of today, you may choose to light a candle, blow a kiss to the moon, or hug a tree.
