Hawthorn Meditation

Color of the day:  Coral
Incense of the day:  Thyme

Hawthorn is one of the two flowers of May. It is a flower of hope and matters of the heart. Gather a handful of dried hawthorn flowers from your tree (if you're lucky enough to have one nearby) or from your magickal stash. Set aside.

Light a charcoal on a fireproof surface and let it turn white-hot. Place the dried flowers in your dominant hand. Thank your flowers for working with you today. Place your hands together in prayer pose. Rub them together vigorously and let the petals drop onto the charcoal slowly. As they drop, focus on three intentions that will make your heart happy and fill it with hope.

As the petals burn, watch as your wishes are consumed by fire and then released into the air, from whence they will manifest. This is elemental magick of the air, fire, and earth. Your elemental magick will ease your pain, and hawthorn itself will soon usher in fresh visions of hope as the universe answers your intentions.
