The nine Muses, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, are associated with inspiration, creativity, and intelligence. Do you need to be motivated in taking on a new project? Completing an existing one? Or maybe in just getting through a daily routine? Call upon the Muses. You may do some research to find the Muse that best fits your needs or goals. Better yet? Just speak to all of them.

Select nine small white pillar candles or tealights and a mirror big enough to hold them. Set the candles in a circle on the mirror and safely light them, speaking a Muse’s name as you light each one: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania. Then repeat this charm:

Muses nine, Sisters of divine creativity, I humbly call on you, asking you to share your gifts. May these symbolic flames ignite my inspiration. With gratitude and reverence I make this request.
