Sun Salutation

Color of the day:  Indigo
Incense of the day:  Magnolia

The summer solstice arrived yesterday. It's time to salute the new summer sunrise!

Check a weather app to determine the sunrise in your area. Set an outdoor altar that allows you to stand behind it, facing east. Populate the altar with solar colors and correspondences: gold or yellow cloth; pyrite, tiger's-eye, carnelian, or amber; yellow candles; sunflowers; lemons; statuary; etc. You'll also need a quart jar with a lid and four tea bags of your choice. Fill the jar with water and set it and the tea bags on the altar.

Set your alarm. Yes, I know it's Saturday and you'd rather sleep in, but this will be worth it. Don yellow or gold attire if you have it. Stand behind your altar at sunrise. Facing east, raise your arms toward the sun and say:

Hail, queen of the day, bringer of light, sustainer of life. I salute you!

Add the tea bags to the jar of water and screw on the lid. Allow this to steep in the sun until noon. Chill and drink, feeling the energy of solarbrewed tea.
