Power of Prayer

Color of the day:  Green
Incense of the day:  Balsam

Yes, of course Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, and other magical folk pray. Prayer is simply a means of having a discussion between oneself and something beyond, whether for thanks, honoring, or beseechment.

Compose your prayer by hand, using pencil and paper. First, consider who will receive the prayer: a deity, an ancestor, the universe, etc. Second, consider the purpose of your prayer. A gifting or sacrifice may be appropriate, depending on your benefactor. Third, consider how you will express gratitude. Keep your ideas brief and clear.

Rough-write each component, then read them aloud. Edit and smooth the words until they feel right.

Before delivering your prayer, compose yourself by cleansing (at least wash your hands and face, and perhaps don fresh clothing). Spend a few silent moments in a quiet, appropriate space before offering your prayer. Enter the prayer in your magic journal and describe the experience (and perhaps, in time, the results).
