Llewellyn has an opportunity for an International Rights Sales Assistant for our subsidiary rights accounts. The Sales Assistant is primarily responsible for providing support to the International Rights Sales Manager by performing a wide range of day-to-day and long-range administrative duties. The Sales Assistant also is solely responsible for sales of domestic rights and licenses for all titles, including managing those accounts.
Wage Range: $20 - $25/hour
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as international and domestic subsidiary rights contract liaison with all internal departments regarding publisher and author inquiries, international and domestic rights contract details - files, art, text, images, covers, cover elements, etc. - issues with 3rd party rights, troubleshooting follow-ups, etc.
- Maintaining international rights database for translations and licensed publishers
- Maintain subsidiary rights contact information – enter contracts and critical data, create invoices and subsidiary rights forms.
- Assist Rights Sales Manager in ensuring compliance with Llewellyn’s requirements for copyright notification (CIP) including compiling rights data for contracts for 3rd party licensing for images and fonts.
- Mail executed contracts, tax forms, press kits, galleys, catalogs, and author copies to international client base.
- Sell Llewellyn titles and products to assigned domestic rights accounts.
- Establish and build positive relationships with assigned accounts providing client base with information on latest Llewellyn offerings.
- Manage invoices and royalty tracking and payments
- Manage domestic sales responsibilities by responding to and troubleshooting customer questions.
- Support international book fair attendees by preparing materials, maintaining schedules, correspondence, meeting notes, options and orders.
- Maintain in-house libraries of archived licensed editions, Rights out-of-print titles, Spanish titles and President’s library to ensure completeness.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School diploma, minimum, with some post-secondary education or certification
- Two to five years of previous office administrative or support experience.
- Proficient in database management (Rights Master, Access) and Microsoft environments (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Effective, responsive, cordial communicator both verbally and written.
- Adept with multitasking and troubleshooting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as in a team environment
