Hru was invoked in the ceremony used to consecrate the Vault of the Adepti, and is also mentioned in the Golden Dawn Tarot papers; as a result of this latter point, he is called upon by many Tarot practitioners, in and out of the Golden Dawn tradition, for guidance in divination. His name is identical to that of the Egyptian deity Horus (ancient Egyptian hru); It has been suggested that he is the angelic guardian of the Golden Dawn tradition as a whole.
