Incense of the day: Maple Yarrow is the herb of Virgo the Virgin. It is a favorite of Witches and is often used in women's medicine. Yarrow tea is said to encourage menstrual bleeding, and help in treating inflammation of the ovaries and fibroid tumors. Yarrow, sometimes known as "nosebleed," has been used in magic for centuries to determine if your lover has been faithful. A leaf is placed in the nose and the following charm recited: Green yarrow, green yarrow, You wear a white bow. If my lover loves me, My nose will bleed now. If my lover doesn't love me, It won't bleed a drop; If my lover does love me, ‘Twill bleed every drop. To dream of a future love, you must put yarrow in your right stocking, tie it around your left leg, and get into bed backward chanting thrice: "Goodnight to thee, yarrow." And again say three times: "Goodnight, pretty yarrow. I pray thee tell me by the morrow who shall my true love be." |
