Spell: Honoring Jupiter

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Now through September 19 the ancient Romans honored Jupiter, the greatest of their great gods. This is the time to ask Jupiter to help make a wish come true. This is the one time to ask for something big because Jupiter, the father of the gods and the Supreme Roman deity, usually responds in a big way. Cover your altar with royal blue fabric, and decorate with flowers of the season in colors associated with him such as purple asters and yellow mums. In a dish, place symbols sacred to him-an oak leaf and a pinch each of nutmeg and clove. Ask if he will honor you with his presence, then announce your wish to him. Meditate on your request. In a gesture of gratitude, leave the oak leaf and spices at the base of an oak tree.
