Spell: A Personal Shield

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Design a personal shield to be used in magickal practice or as an altar adornment. Begin by choosing a shape: circle, triangle, shield shaped, and so on. Working with a paper pattern, divide your shield into a number of sections, each of which will feature a key component. You might include sections devoted to family, a specific magickal practice, one or more elements, astrolgical information, your magickal name or training, or whatever else seems appropriate to your shield. For protection, include symbols, runes, or other instruments of shielding or defense.
Transfer your pattern to fabric using fabric paint markers, applique, fabric glue, ribbons, buttons, trim, or other media to create the design. Or transfer the pattern to wood, leather, metal, or some other durable material, and decorate appropriately. Magickally empowered, your shield will protect you, enliven your magicks, and maybe even beautify your sanctum sanctorum.
