Holy Innocents' Day (today) is a Christian observance memorializing Herod's slaughter of innocent children. It has been traditionally considered to have unlucky connotations. This-combined with today's other aspects-make it a great day to banish the "bad luck" of the previous year and to transmute negativity into blessings. Place a tall, white jar candle on a plate. Surround it with a circle of salt, and light. Also light some frankincense incense. Hold your fingertips together near your heart and, using a swishing motion, flick them outward nine times, as if you are flicking negativity away from you. With each flick, say:
"Bad luck, be gone!" Afterwards, hold your hands over your heart, and visualize the light of the candle completely filling your entire body and aura, burning away negativity and transmuting it into positive energy and the best possible luck. Finish by smudging yourself with the incense. |
