Yemaya, also known as Yemanjá, is the African orisha of oceans and seas. The goddess Sedna is the Alaskan goddess whose severed fingers formed the creatures of the sea.
Yemaya is the Great Mother who gave her love and protection to her children as they crossed the great water in the bowels of slave ships. To this very day, Brazilians honor her with tiny white boats set afloat on ocean waves. Call upon the deities of your choosing with honor and respect. Use their stories to send blessings to the great waters of our planet. Without the great oceans we would not be, for we need the moist earth for our crops and food. Consider donating to a charity that protects the seas. |
