LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Spell For Deeper Sleep and Clearer Dreams

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

For this spell, mix the following essential oils in equal parts:
* Clary sage
* Lavender
* Marjoram
* Roman chamomile

Before using, test a little of the blend on your skin. If it bothers you, dilute it with a bit of a carrier oil, such as olive or almond. If essential oils aren’t available, you can make a hot infused oil (see my spell on July 10 for the technique) with the above herbs.

Next, take a dark blue pillar candle and use a small blade or wooden pick to carve it with symbols and words that represent restful sleep and clear dreams to you. Enhance the look of the candle with silver ink or other decorations. Anoint the candle lightly with the oil, light it safely, and say:

Blessed sleep and revealing dreams
Now ferry me through the night,
To wake aware and full of strength,
To set my life alight!

Meditate for a few moments, then put out the candle. Before lying down, anoint the bottoms of your feet with the oil. May your dreams be blessed.
