LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Ancient Mysteries

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Many of our rituals have origins in ancient traditions, yet when we perform these rites, we connect to something deep within ourselves that defies explanation. Today, concentrate on an old story or myth that calls to you.

For this spell you will need a black candle, frankincense essential oil, gold glitter, a fireproof candleholder, a pen, and paper.

Anoint your candle with frankincense oil, then roll it in gold glitter. Place it in the holder.

Light the candle. As you gaze into the flame, say:

Ancient mysteries of old,
By this divine light you unfold.
By dark of night, by light of day,
I thank you for all you
share with me today.

Write down any impressions you receive, then extinguish the candle or let it burn down safely. Keep the paper and candle on your altar as a reminder of your connection to the divine mysteries.
