Spell: A Gratitude Jar

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

During the holiday festivities, we often get busy with what we need to do rather than taking time to be thankful for what's already been accomplished. I believe the road to abundance is not paved with gold; it's paved with gratitude. This is a gentle spell the whole family can do together. You'll need some colored paper, some pens, and a lidded jar.

At the end of the day, have everyone write down something they're thankful for and put it in the jar. In the past, our family has done this without discussion, just adding the papers, while other times we've done it over tea, talking about our choices.

Keep this up for the rest of the month. At the end of the year, gather together and open the jar, reading aloud what the papers say. This enables you not only to recall the good things that have surrounded you in the past, but also to create a thankful mindset as you enter a new month—or in this case, a new year. Outlook changes everything!
