Aligning with our ancestors can give us incredible power in our daily lives. For this spell, you will need a list of as many of your known ancestors as possible. They do not have to be those of blood; they can be ancestors of spirit or inspiration.

Yellow is often used for ancestor work, but for this spell, I prefer to use purple. Carve your name into a purple candle and dress it with frankincense oil. Put it in a firesafe holder and light it. Take a few deep breaths and say:

I am ______ (state your name).

Then say:

I honor ______ (read your list).

At the end, remember which name resonated strongest and say:

I align with ______ (name).

Watch the candle and breathe, feeling yourself coming into alignment with that ancestor. Let the candle burn down, or put it out and burn it down over 2–3 days, feeling the alignment. This is the ancestor with whom you will work in the coming cycle.
