Color of the day: Black
Incense of the day: Musk Today is the Lacuria, an ancient Roman festival honoring the spirits who lived in trees. This is a time when land was cleared to make way for new fields. Land-owners wanted to propitiate the spirits and prevent them from interfering with crop production. Normally a pig would be slaughtered and a ritual prayer given. To honor the tree spirits in your area make an offering of red wine, grape juice, or even water to a grove or single tree while uttering: "In honor of the Lacuria." |
