Incense of the day: Poplar Sarasvati, Hindu goddess of letters, music, and magic, is honored today. Her images portray her holding a book, a sitar, and prayer beads. For inspiration, on a white square of cloth place pearls, a white flower in a glass bowl of water, a bottle of ink, a pen, and a sheet of new paper. If you wish for inspiration of another sort, use symbols for your corresponding art. Burn a white candle and a stick of incense, and pray: O Mother Sarasvati, Remove the darkness from my mind And bless me with eternal knowledge. Meditate using the following mantra: Om aing Sarasvati namaha Om. It is said that if you say this mantra 500,000 times, all knowledge will be revealed. |
