LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Saturnalia

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is the first day of the weeklong festival of Saturn, the Roman god of agriculture and harvest. This Roman festival featured the giving of small gifts (saturnalia et sigillaricia). During this festival, slaves and masters switched roles. It was a time of banquets, merriment, and fine clothing. Take the time today to dress festively. Embrace the beauty of you as you go out to undertake your routine. Today is a good time to remember the people in your life whom you might not ordinarily gift. Consider practicing some random acts of kindness for people who are more integral in your life than you might think. These acts need not be material in nature, just sincere expressions of thoughtfulness. Do this for the simple joy it brings. Enjoy the day to its fullest.
