Having your own portable altar can help you ground and center after a day of stressful experiences. The portable altar can be as elaborate or simple as you like. I've seen many hand-carved wooden boxes cleverly designed to hold equipment and also serve as a formal table for a working. I've also seen a small cosmetic bag used for essentials to create an altar in a few minutes!
I have both, and I confess I use the cosmetic bag more often. A few white votive candles (keep it small and simple), a small jar of anointing oils, a small jar of sea salt, and a couple of feathers are all you really need to create a sacred space anywhere you go. Choosing the items can be really fun, and you can personalize your altar as much as you like. |
