Food fills so many roles in our lives. It nourishes our bodies, nurtures us when we're ill, provides a unique type of sensual pleasure, and, for those of us magickal folks, comes with an arcane element as well. Yet we often zip through our days, gobbling food and too often relying on processed, pre-cooked, or fast foods.
Even worse, most of us only rarely pause to show gratitude for the life sustaining gifts food provides. Today make a plan to pause mindfully each time you eat or drink. Think about the food or drink you're about to enjoy, and offer a simple blessing: "I take this food with gratitude. May it nourish me. So shall it be!" Use this blessing throughout the day. Eat slowly, chew mindfully, and visualize the noursihment moving through you. Honor the gift. |
