Spell: Create a Magical Incense

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Imbolc is a traditional fire festival. Prepare for it with this incense. You'll need a combination of these Imbolc/winter-corresponding dry materials (bark and aerial parts should be in dried form): cedar bark, shavings, or essential oil; rowan leaves, berries, or bark; basil leaves; blackberry leaves or brambles; oak shavings, leaves, or bark; rosemary leaves or essential oil; whole or powdered cloves; cinnamon sticks or powder; mugwort; holly leaves or berries.

In addition, you'll need one or more of the following binders: grated beeswax, carrier oil (olive or sunflower are ideal), or your choice of resin.

Combine the dry materials in a mortar and pestle (or spice grinder) to create a uniform mixture. Add the binder to bring the incense together, whether in loose or "solid" form.

As you work, charge the incense by repeating:

"Scents of ages, born of fire,
spells arise as will inspires."

Use your incense to usher in Imbolc.
