Religious traditions around the world make use of holy water. A great mystique surrounds holy water and its creation; however, it's really quite simple to make. Holy water is any water that has been blessed or charged or that came from a sacred site. You have all the power necessary to create your own holy water, and today-a full moon-is a great day to do it!
Take a glass bottle with a tightfitting lid, fill it with clean water, and optionally add a moonstone. Place the bottle on your windowsill or porch where it can bask in the moonlight. Recite a prayer over it, such as this: "Grandmother Moon, with your comforting light, Lend us your blessing and wisdom tonight. As you dance with the sacred tides and flow, Charge this holy water so I may help your blessings grow!" In the morning, collect your jar of holy water. Store in the refrigerator. |
