Spell: Finding Balance

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Do you spend more time on daily chores than on your spiritual life? Do you feel a need for less work and more family? You need a balancing spell.

Gather these items:
* 2 three-foot-long ribbons (½ to 1-inch wide), one black and one white
* Paper and pen

Reflect on those parts of your life that feel out of balance. Write down eight that seem to take up too much time and eight that aren’t taking up enough, or perhaps eight qualities or behaviors you’d like to do more or less of. Write the “positives” on one colored ribbon and the “negatives” on the other ribbon.

Tie the two ribbons together with a square knot (a balanced knot) and then repeat until you have tied a total of eight knots. For each knot, say:

Black and white and dark and light,
I search for balance, day and night.
Bring an ordered life to me,
That I may feel more harmony.

Carry the knotted cords with you as a reminder until your goals are reached.
