Fragrant and luxurious baths have become popular in the witchcraft world, but ritual baths aren’t always pretty, colorful, and smelling of flowers. Sometimes a ritual bath is a major cleansing of bad energy, and for that, you need to take serious measures. This cleansing bath is not your average flowery concoction. The ingredients are chosen for their protective and cleansing properties over their scent, to scare away whatever plagues you. (Please note that if you have plant allergies or skin sensitivities, this spell might not be right for you. Proceed with caution.) Materials: 4 cloves garlic 3 drops clove oil 3 whole dandelion roots 3 tablespoons salt 1 handful goutweed Make the bath as hot as you can comfortably submerge yourself in. Put the ingredients in the water. Notice the weedy, pungent scents and how they act as a deterrent. As you sit in the tub, imagine that the water is drawing all the negativity from you. This might look like bugs crawling out of your body, drowning, and disappearing into the water. When the bath starts to cool, drain the tub. (To avoid clogging, place a drain strainer over the drain. These are available at most dollar stores.) Rinse yourself thoroughly with fresh water from the shower to complete the ritual. If you don’t have a tub, you can make this brew in a bowl or pitcher. Let it cool to a safe temperature, then stand in the shower while pouring it over your head. Rinse off afterward. |
