As autumn winds down and winter approaches, many people think about starting fires—a campfire, a bonfire, a woodstove, a fireplace, and so on. Even lighting candles or incense becomes more appealing. However, not everyone lives where they can enjoy open flames, and some folks find the smoke too irritating. So there are symbolic options instead.

For this magical craft, you need:

• Magazines or catalogs with fire images
• Scissors
• A piece of card stock in red, orange, or yellow
• Craft glue or decoupage medium (such as Mod Podge)
• Optional: stickers, glitter glue, metallic markers, glue-on jewels, sequins, or other embellishments

Outdoorsy magazines or catalogs often have fire images, or you can print online images with a color printer. Cut out your fire pictures. Arrange them on the paper until you find a design you like. Glue them down securely. With decoupage medium, you can go over the top to seal it. Add any embellishments. Use this collage to represent the element of fire on your altar, in spells, and so on.
