The kids are back in school and your spouse hasn't seen you in days; you are working, driving the kids to sports practice, possibly cooking, helping with homework, making sure the bills are paid and the garbage is taken out, and you need to stop for a second and touch base with your family. Yes, you are always with them, but how much are you talking? What are you sharing? When was the last time you actually sat down at the kitchen table and all ate together?
Try to spend some quality time with everyone in your home, grabbing time whenever you can. It is not how much time you spend, it's what you spend it doing. Sit down together, watch a movie, laugh, make popcorn, start a pillow fight, or just relax a bit and kick off your shoes. |
