This time of year, many of us are overwhelmed by all the activity and social obligations of the season. Introverts may be especially affected, though even extroverts may be feeling the pressure. Remember to take some time for self-care over the next few weeks.
Here are some simple suggestions: Make sure you get enough sleep and good-quality food, to the best of your ability. Take a little extra time in your daily bath or shower. Visualize the stress - good and bad alike - oozing out of your pores and into the water, down the drain, and away. If you can step away for just a few minutes-whether that's into an empty bedroon, outside, or even into the bathroom - give yourself a little alone time. Clear your mind, breathe deeply, and then head back in when you're ready. Try to schedule a "downtime" day, or afternoon at the least, for a more extended break. |
