Spell: Chasing Away Winter Blues

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Winter can be the worst when it comes to health. Long, dark nights and overcast days can trigger Seasonal Affective Disorder, a depression due to the lack of sun at this time of year. It can begin as early as the fall, and drag into the winter. It is sometimes called the winter blues.
Severe depression should be treated professionally, but there are things you can do to chase those blues away. Make a connection with Helios and take full advantage of bright winter days to get outside and soak up some of those winter rays. Visit your local public greenhouse; not only will the seasonal plantings brighten up your day, but traffic to your local public garden benefits that organization.
Move your desk to a window, use bright or sheer curtains during the day to allow more sun into your home, and get out and walk in the sun.
