Hag stones are stones that have a natural hole running through them created by water erosion. They can be found on ocean beaches and in river or creek beds. Finding them can be difficult, so feel blessed if you happen upon one by accident-for those are the luckiest of all.
Thought of as a protective stone, hag stones were hung to protect against night terrors and Witches. When a hag stone was used as a seeing stone, it was said, one could look through the hole in the stone and see into the faerie realm. To make a hag stone protection cord, you will need three feet of black cord and a hag stone. Slip the cording through the hag stone and tie the cord off at the end. This will be your first knot. You will tie eight more knots, for a total of nine. As you tie each knot, focus on your intention. When finished, hang your protection cord near your threshold. |
