Spell: Spell for a New Houseplant

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Even if you’re not much of a gardener, summer is a great time to bring plants into your life to add both beauty and magic. Consider adding a houseplant or two to brighten your home. Choose cacti for protection, African violet for love and working with fairies, aloe for health and healing, or pothos for longevity and success. Speak to your plants and consciously charge them with a task in the household. When you bring a new plant home, concentrate on its purpose and say:

Welcome home, friend. I ask that
you bring your own magic to this
home. I will care for you, and
together let us be partners.

Write your specific instructions for your new plant on a slip of rice paper and bury it in the soil to decompose. As the plant grows and flourishes, its magic will come to fruition. Be sure to research and provide any special care your plant may require so you can return the favor!
