Spell: Incense for Feeding Household Guardians

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

While the guardian spirits of the home can be fed using food and drink offerings, this smoke acts as a very potent source of nourishment on its own. You will need:

  • 1 part juniper berries, dried
  • 1 part rose petals, dried
  • 1 part yarrow flowers, dried
  • 1 part frankincense resin
  • Incense charcoal and burner
  • Mortar and pestle
  • Matches or lighter
  • A whisk made from an evergreen branch (red cedar, juniper, pine, etc.)

Crush the juniper berries, rose petals, and yarrow flowers in a mortar and pestle, then add in the frankincense resin. When you'd like to feed your household guardians, light the incense charcoal and add a little of the incense mixture. Carry this through all of the rooms in your home, using the whisk to fan the smoke. If you have an altar space, offer some of the smoke here as well. This can be paired with food and drink offerings. I like to do this smoke offering on the new and full moons.
