Color of the day: Yellow
Incense of the day: Juniper Spring is in the air. Tulips and daffodils are blooming. Now is the season of Kore, the Child-Goddess. She is the daughter of Demeter, Goddess of Grain. Kore gives the flowers their rainbow of colors. In autumn, she descends to the underworld to spend winter with her husband Hades; there she rules as queen of the dead. But in spring, Kore returns to the world above and to her mother. Rejoicing at her return, the Earth bursts forth with blossoms. Many rituals at this time of year honor Kore. You may wish to greet her with a bouquet of spring flowers and an invocation such as this: Tulips in the meadow, Crocus on the hill. Spring is slow in coming, But we know it will. Kore paints the flowers Yellow, pink, and white. Join us, Child-Goddess, Bring the waxing light! |
