Spell: Fear Not the Dark

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

St. Peter of Alexandria, a bishop during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, guarded his flock against religious persecution. He hid and protected them, and taught them to 'fear not' death, for only through death is there resurrection. In 311 CE, St. Peter was captured, tortured, and put to death without succumbing to fear.
Today, fear not. Write a simple list of what you fear. Is it poverty? Homelessness? Illness or death? Take a note from St. Peter, and fear not.
Face your fears, and know that deep inside you have his saintly powers to protect yourself and your faith.
Renounce your need to dwell only in light. Allow yourself to slip into darkness with the season, and know your fears. This natural cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth is continually at play, and only through death, as we see in the plants now, will rebirth in spring be possible.
